What's Going On?

Things have been hectic to say the least. But, that's what it's all about. Being busy, I mean. After all, I am a senior and the years keep going faster and faster. Time marches on, as they say. Well, it certainly seems to be the truth. We had our mission conference from October 10 through teh 13 of this year. It was a good time to renew some friendships and to meet some new people. I was particularly impressed by the representative from Gospel for Asia and what they are doing to impact the world for Christ.
But, after the conference with dental surgery taking place to get rid of a tooth and to prepare for my first bridge. Wow! that was an ordeal for me. I don't like any type of pain. Well, things are getting better but still waiting for two biopsies from some places on my lip. Then, off to the Urologist and the prostate problem. From one end to the other. PSA is slowly rising and is now 9.6 so we will try 6 weeks of antibiotics. I don't expect it to lower, but if it does, I won't have to have more biopsies taken..an unpleasant experience to say the least.
To top it all off, today we put the house on the market. How many factors do I need to in order to feel depressed? I think I have reached my quota. But, Hey, good news. Heading for a new place to live and some new ministry somewhere. Those are the exciting things. So, What's going on? God is still working, even with me.

Big Day Today

Well, it's a big day today as we get ready to go to a wedding in the afternoon then off to the dinner to welcome the missionaries that will be coming in this evening. Only partly cloudy today with moderate temperatures. The leaves are beginning to change, but not too much at this point. Our Maples in the front of the house are beginning to show some signs of red on them.

Falling Behind

I have been falling behind in my studies a bit. I need to get back into the swing of things or I will never get this course finished. I don't know where the idea came from of going to seminary at 66. Anyway, the challenge is good and the courses, both of them, have been excellent. I am getting a little tired of so much politics but understand that it is necessary, I guess, in order to reach all of the people at least once before the election. The closer it gets to the election, the less I like either of the candidates. I just can't take the ads. Drives me up the wall. When it comes down to the vote, I have to go with the platform that lines up with my thinking rather than the man.

Getting Ready

What's going on today? Well, heading for the dentist. When you get to be a senior, you soon realize that the words of Ecclesiastes 12 are for you. Especially some like the "grinders are few." As a child, I didn't understand what that meant. Now, as I go to the dentist, it has all become clearer. But, it's going to be a good day. It is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice in it. So, have a good day and may the Lord bless.
